Is it downfall for Sri Lanka National Cricket Team?

In ongoing Sri Lanka’s tour of New Zealand which started on December 8 and consists of three One Day Internationals, two Tests and one and only Twenty20 International. The tour now is left with only Twenty20 International on January 11 at Eden Park, Auckland.

Depressingly, Sri Lanka National Cricket Team lost all the matches against the host. Ahead of the test series, from December 08 to December 10 at McLean Park, Napier, a 3-day Practice Match was scheduled between New Zealand XI and Sri Lanka Cricket Team. The practice match ended in a draw.

Then the tour started with its first test series at Basin Reserve, Wellington from December 15 and the first test ended in a draw. But then from the second test onwards, New Zealand National Cricket Team stood winners for the second test and for all the three One Day Internationals.

The second test was scheduled to be held from December 26 at Christchurch which was won by New Zealand by 423 runs. Thereby New Zealand emerged as the winners for the two-match test series.

After the test series, the three-match ODI series was won by New Zealand National Cricket Team defeating Sri Lanka National Cricket Team in all the three ODIs. New Zealand clinched the ODI series by 3-0.

In the first ODI on January 3 at Mount Maunganui, New Zealand won by 45 runs. In the second ODI on January 5 at the same venue, New Zealand won by 21 runs and in the third and the final ODI on January 8 at Nelson, New Zealand won by 115 runs. Thereby, registering the victory in ODI series 3-0.

Let’s see now if Sri Lanka could win any match of Sri Lanka’s tour of New Zealand or will completely lose the New Zealand vs Sri Lanka series. The only and the final T20I is scheduled for January 11.
