Know about IPL Franchise Delhi Capitals and its Squad for IPL 2019

Delhi Capitals is a cricket team representing the city of Delhi in the Indian Premier League. It is formerly known as Delhi Daredevils (DD). The Delhi based franchise plays its home matches at the Feroz Shah Kotla Ground in New Delhi. The franchise is owned by the GMR and JSW Group.

The Delhi based franchise has not won an IPL title yet. They have played in all the past 11 editions but unable to win a single IPL season. They have also not won any Champions League Twenty20.

The team is captained by Shreyas Iyer and its head coach is Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting.

Its leading run-scorer is Virender Sehwag and the leading wicket-taker is Amit Mishra. It will be interesting to watch newly named Delhi Capitals in Indian Premier League 2019.

Let’s see whether they will clinch the IPL title for the first time ever or not. The Indian Premier League 2019 is going to start from March 29. All the IPL franchises are ready with their modified squads for IPL 2019. Recently, IPL Auction for the upcoming season has concluded.

Before the IPL Auction, Delhi Capitals which is formerly known as Delhi Daredevils has released many top players like Gautam Gambhir who was appointed as the captain of the team in IPL 2018. The team has also released Jason Roy, Glenn Maxwell, Liam Plunkett, Mohammed Shami, Junior Dala, Sayan Ghosh, Daniel Christian, Gurkeerat Singh Mann, and Naman Ojha.

After too many players released, Delhi Capitals have their new squad for the IPL 2019 which is as follows:

Retained Players included in the IPL 2019 Squad are Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Harshal Patel, Rahul Tewatia, Prithvi Shaw, Amit Mishra, Avesh Khan, Jayant Yadav, Colin Munro, Chris Morris, Kagiso Rabada, Sandeep Lamichhane, Trent Boult and Manjot Kalra.

Delhi Capitals has traded Shikhar Dhawan from Sunrisers Hyderabad for Abhishek Sharma, Vijay Shankar, and Shahbaz Nadeem.

Bought Players include Jalaj Saxena, Bandaru Ayyappa, Ankush Bains and Nathu Singh for Rs 20 lakhs each. Other includes Keemo Paul for Rs 50 lakh, Sherfane Rutherford for Rs 2 crore, Hanuma Vihari for Rs 2 crore, Ishant Sharma for Rs 1.10 crore, Axar Patel for Rs 5 crore and Colin Ingram for Rs 6.40 crore.
