Know about IPL Franchise Kings XI Punjab and its Squad for IPL 2019

Kings XI Punjab is an IPL team from Punjab. The Mohali Chandigarh based franchise plays its home matches at PCA Stadium in Mohali. The team is coached by Mike Hesson and has Ravichandran Ashwin as its captain.

The Punjab based franchise is owned by the famous Bollywood actress Preity Zinta and Wadia Group scion Ness Wadia, Dabur’s Mohit Burman, and Karan Paul. It also has The Oberoi Group as part of its owners.

The Punjab based franchise has not won any IPL titles yet but was a runner-up in IPL 2014. It will be interesting to watch Kings XI Punjab in the IPL 2019 and to see whether they will clinch their first IPL title or not.

The IPL 12 is all set to begin from March 29 and will end on May 19. Before the recently concluded IPL Auction 2019, all the IPL franchises have submitted the list of players retained and released by them to BCCI.

Before the IPL Auction, Kings XI Punjab has released most of their players. Almost 11 players were released by KXIP that includes famous names like Axar Patel, Aaron Finch, Yuvraj Singh, Mohit Sharma, Manoj Tiwary, Barinder Sran, Ben Dwarshuis, Akshdeep Nath, Pardeep Sahu, Mayank Dagar, and Manzoor Dar.

The Kings XI Punjab new squad for the IPL 2019 is as follows:

The list of retained players includes KL Rahul, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mayank Agarwal, Ankit Rajpoot, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Chris Gayle, Andrew Tye, Karun Nair, and David Miller.

The bought players of KXIP includes Agnivesh Ayachi, Harpreet Brar, Murugan Ashwin, and Arshdeep Singh for Rs 20 lakh each. Other KXIP bought players includes Sarfaraz Khan for Rs 25 lakh, Darshan Nalkande for Rs 30 lakh, Hardus Viljoen for Rs 75 lakh, Moises Henriques for Rs 1 crore, Nicholas Pooran for Rs 4.2 crore, Mohammad Shami for Rs 4.2 crore, Prabhsimran Singh for Rs 4.8 crore, Sam Curran for Rs 7.2 crore and Varun Chakaravarthy for Rs 8.4 crore.
