Know about IPL Franchise Kolkata Knight Riders and its Squad for IPL 2019

IPL Franchise Kolkata Knight Riders is one of the most loved teams in IPL. The franchise representing the city of Kolkata plays its home matches at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

The franchise is owned by the famous Indians celebrities. Bollywood Actor Shahrukh Khan, Bollywood Actress Juhi Chawla and her spouse Jay Mehta are the owners of KKR. The team is captained by Dinesh Karthik and is coached by Jacques Kallis

The Kolkata based franchise has won two IPL titles. They stood victorious for the IPL seasons 2012 and 2014. In IPL 2012 they defeated Chennai Super Kings and in IPL 2014 they defeated Kings XI Punjab.

Gautam Gambhir is Kolkata Knight Riders leading run-scorer and its leading wicket-taker is Sunil Narine. It will be interesting to know if the two-time champions of IPL will equal the record for the three-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.

Ahead of IPL Auction 2019, Kolkata Knight Riders released some players from IPL Squad 2019 which includes Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Johnson, Tom Curran, Cameron Delport, Javon Searles, Ishank Jaggi, Apoorv Wankhade and Vinay Kumar.

IPL Auction for the upcoming season has concluded recently and Kolkata Knight Riders new squad for the IPL 2019 is as follows:

The list of players retained by KKR includes Dinesh Karthik, Chris Lynn, Andre Russell, Piyush Chawla, Kuldeep Yadav, Prasidh Krishna, Sunil Narine, Robin Uthappa, Shubman Gill, Shivam Mavi, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh.

The bought players are Shrikant Mundhe, Yarra Prithviraj, Anrich Nortje and Nikhil Naik for Rs 20 lakhs each. Others are Harry Gurney for Rs 75 lakh, Joe Denly for Rs 1 crore, Lockie Ferguson for Rs 1.60 crore and Carlos Brathwaite for Rs 5 crore.
