Know about IPL Franchise Rajasthan Royals and its Squad for IPL 2019

Rajasthan Royals is an IPL team from the city of Jaipur. It plays its home matches at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The franchise is owned by Manoj Badale and Ranjit Barthakur.

The Jaipur based franchise has won only one IPL title in 2008 season which was the inaugural season of the IPL under the captaincy of Shane Warne. Currently, the team is captained by Ajinkya Rahane and coached by Paddy Upton.

In the year 2015, Rajasthan Royals along with Chennai Super Kings were suspended for two years over a match-fixing scandal that did not allow the teams to participate in IPL 2016 and IPL 2017.

Rajasthan Royalsreturned to the tournament in IPL 2018 season. The team leading run-scorer is its captain Ajinkya Rahane and its leading wicket-taker is Shane Watson. It will be interesting to watch RR in the IPL 2019 and to know whether they will clinch the IPL title for the third time or not.

Indian Premier League 2019 is going to start from March 29 and will continue till May 19. A month ago, all the IPL franchises have submitted the list of players retained and released by them and IPL Auction for the upcoming season has concluded recently.

Before the IPL Auction, Rajasthan Royals released D’Arcy Short, Ben Laughlin, Heinrich Klaasen, Dane Paterson, Zahir Khan, Dushmantha Chameera, Jaydev Unadkat, Anureet Singh, Ankit Sharma, and Jatin Saxena from their IPL 2019 Squad.

The list of retained players includes Ajinkya Rahane, Prashant Chopra, Stuart Binny, Shreyas Gopal, Aryaman Birla, S. Midhun, Krishnappa Gowtham, Sanju Samson, Rahul Tripathi, Ish Sodhi, Dhawal Kulkarni, Mahipal Lomror, Ben Stokes, Steve Smith, Jos Buttler, and Jofra Archer.

Rajasthan Royals bought players include Shashank Singh for Rs 30 lakh, Shubham Rajane for Rs 20 lakh, Manan Vohra for Rs 20 lakh, Riyan Parag for Rs 20 lakh, Liam Livingstone for Rs 50 lakh, Ashton Turner for Rs 50 lakh, Oshane Thomas for Rs 1.1 crore, Varun Aaron for Rs 2.4 crore and Jaydev Unadkat for Rs 8.4 crore.
