Indian Cricket team share a great bond with each other and stay united which gave many players nicknames that could be heard inside the dressing room as well as outside it too either on social media or on the field.

Team India’s opener Rohit Sharma is popularly known as Hitman, Shaana and Ro. He is known as hitman due to his abilities with the bat. His wife gave him nickname Ro while Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh gave him nickname Shaana because Yuvi considers Rohit as a 'wise guy'.

Another Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan is popularly known as Jat and Gabbar. The nickname Jat or Jat Ji is given to him due to his character traits while Gabbar was the name which he got during Ranji days where he jokes around on the field to boost team confidence and say “Bohot yaarana lagta hai” just like Gabbar from the bollywood movie Sholay.

Current Indian Cricket Team Skipper Virat Kohli nickname is Cheeku which he got from his state coach Ajit Chaudhary. When Virat was a teenager, he was worried about the hair fall and got his hair cut very short. Then next day when he came to the field, his coach called him Cheeku due to his long ears.

In a Indian comic Champak, there was a character named Cheeku who was the rabbit and his coach finds that his face resembles Cheeku. He is also known as Run Machine or simply Viru.
