Will Gautam Gambhir join the IPL franchise KXIP for IPL 2019?

Former Indian Cricketer Gautam Gambhir suddenly announced retirement from all forms of cricket last week. He has played the last and the final game of his career for his state team Delhi.

After the retirement, Gauti told he is looking forward to coaching instead of doing commentary. As per the recent twitter conversation of Gautam Gambhir and Kings XI Punjab, it seems that he is soon going to sign a coaching deal with the IPL franchise Kings XI Punjab for IPL 2019.

The chat between KXIP and Gautam Gambhir points that the former Indian cricketer might join the KXIP’s backroom staff.

After the Gauti’s retirement, KXIP on twitter wishes him and wrote, “We wish you a great future ahead, @GautamGambhir! #ThankYouGambhir for the fond memories!”. In reply to the wish Gautam Gambhir wrote, "Thanks team red for making it special. Let’s meet soon...@BCCI @BCCIdomestic,”.

Kings XI Punjab then added “It is our pleasure. Waiting to see you cheer for our lions from the stands of the den! @GautamGambhir,”.

There is no news about it but after IPL Auction 2019 it may become clear. In IPL player auction 2018, KXIP was one among the three franchises that bid for Gautam Gambhir.

In the upcoming Indian Premier League season 12, it seems that the team is improving its backroom staff. KXIP has dropped Virender Sehwag who was the mentor of the franchise. They have also removed Brad Hodge who was the head coach while Venkatesh Prasad stepped down as the bowling coach of the KXIP.

Mike Hesson joined the KXIP team as the head coach and Ryan Harris took over the job as the bowling coach. The other additions to the backroom staff include Craig McMillan and Sridharan Sriram. Let’s whether Gautam Gambhir joins the team’s backroom staff or not.
