Will Hardik Pandya return in the Third Test against Australia?

India vs Australia test series started well for India with India won the first test in the Australian soil and took the lead 1-0. The second test started on December 14 and will continue till December 18.

The IND vs AUS is scheduled for the four-match test series which will then be followed by three-match One Day International series with its third and the final ODI on January 18.

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya had suffered a lower back injury in a match against Pakistan in September in the Asia Cup 2018 and has been on the road to recovery. Because of his injury, he was not included in the T20I and test series squad against Australia.

Hardik Pandya is eyeing to come back on the next test and has opted to play in Ranji Trophy match for Baroda against Mumbai. He revealed in an interview that he has decided to play in Ranji Trophy rather than India A as he was aiming to make a comeback to the Test team in the ongoing test match series against Australia and then ODIs which is scheduled after Tests.

Hardik Pandya said, "If I am playing a Test match, I should play a four-day game (rather) than one-day. Because one-day is later on. I am focusing right now that if I can make it to the team, because there is scope of me making a comeback into the Test team, if I am fit to play a Test match. That's why I wanted to take my time and see where exactly I stand in Ranji Trophy,".

He told that playing a Test match is a different league and the workload goes very high and so he wanted to see if he can manage the workload or not. He told that he knows that he will get enough match preparation before the Australia ODI and therefore he focused on playing Ranji Trophy.

It will be interesting to see if national selectors decide to select Hardik Pandya to India squad or not for the third test that will begin on December 26 at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
