Know what is special about the Venue of upcoming India vs New Zealand First ODI

India’s Tour of New Zealand is all set to start from January 23. India vs New Zealand will have a five-match One Day International series and a three-match Twenty20 International series. The tour will have its first ODI at McLean Park in Napier.

McLean Park will be hosting the first One-Day International between New Zealand National Cricket Team and Indian National Cricket Team on January 23. The Central Districts home ground will have international cricket after two summers.

Previously, a game against Australia was abandoned due to drainage issues and delays in revamping the outfield. Also, the games against South Africa and England were shifted to Hamilton and Tauranga respectively.

New Zealand cricketer Ross Taylor who plays for Central Districts is excited to play at his home ground. Ross Taylor who is a part of New Zealand’s first three ODI Squad said, "They've had a few dramas, but it looks like the ground and the venue is in good nick,"

Ross Taylor has not been here for a while and said “I watched the game on TV the other night, which I think was the second time they'd played on it. They said it would be a little bit harder than it was the other day, but it's always a nice ground to come and play at, and you still have to sum up conditions.”

He told, "Sometimes, teams go a bit too hard early, still trying to find out what is a par total and not getting too far ahead of yourself. You still have to earn the right to score over 300, but there are times when you can score under 300 and win games."

Ross Taylor feels that whenever Indian National Cricket Team arrives there, they are a powerhouse. He said that the NZ-Indian community come out and support them and it is quite often that there are as many Indians in the crowd as Kiwis even more in some situations. He said that it is great to play in front of a packed house.

It will be interesting to see who will take the lead between Indian Cricket Team and New Zealand Cricket Team in the five-match ODI series.
