New Zealand Clinched the Entire Tour against Sri Lanka

With Sri Lanka’s tour of New Zealand coming to an end with its only Twenty20 International. New Zealand National Cricket Team clinched the complete tour against Sri Lanka. The host defeated Sri Lanka in every match of the series except the first test that ended in a draw.

Sri Lanka’s tour of New Zealand consisted of the two-match Test series, Three-match One Day International series and the only Twenty20. Sri Lanka National Cricket Teamlost all the match against New Zealand National Cricket Team.

The tour started on December 8 with a 3-day practice match between Sri Lanka and New Zealand XI at McLean Park in Napier. The match ended on December 10 in a draw.

Then Sri Lankan Cricket Team and New Zealand Cricket Team clashed for the first test from December 15 to December 19 at Basin Reserve in Wellington. Both the teams played well and the match ended in a tie.

From the second test match onwards, the Lions faced the series of defeat against the Black Caps. The Lions lost every match against the black caps and finally the entire tour of New Zealand. Here is the list of New Zealand’s victory over Sri Lanka:

  • The second Test was won by New Zealand by 423 runs at Hagley Oval in Christchurch.
  • The first ODI was won by New Zealand by 45 runs at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.
  • The second ODI was won by New Zealand by 21 runs at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.
  • The third ODI was won by New Zealand by 115 runs at Saxton Oval in Nelson.
  • The only Twenty20 was won by New Zealand by 35 runs at Eden Park in Auckland.
Now after Sri Lanka, Team India will tour New Zealand for Five One Day International’s and Three Twenty20 Internationals. The India vs New Zealand tour will begin from January 23 and will end on February 10.
