Will England ever be able to win the ICC Cricket World Cup?

England National Cricket Team who hosted many World Cup seasons and will host the upcoming World Cup too has not won a single World Cup trophy yet. The team appeared in finals for three times but unfortunately lost all the final matches.

England National Cricket Team were World Cup runner-ups in the year 1979, 1987, and 1992. The nation hosted the World Cup entirely for the first three seasons of World Cup i.e. 1975, 1979 and 1983. It also hosted World Cup with Wales in the year 1999.

The upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 will be hosted by England and Wales from 30 May to 14 July 2019. The schedule for the upcoming World Cup is already out. It will be interesting to see if the host wins the World Cup trophy for the first time ever or not.

Earlier, England National Cricket Team has lost the finals in 1979 in its own soil against Windies Cricket Team. In Cricket World Cup 1987 which was hosted by India and Pakistan, England lost the final game against the five-times World Cup champions Australia National Cricket Team in Kolkata.

In Cricket World Cup 1992 which was hosted by Australia and New Zealand, England lost that final too against Pakistan National Cricket Team in Melbourne. So in the past eleven ICC Cricket World Cup seasons, England managed to play the final match but couldn't win any.

The first match of the World Cup 2019 will be played on May 30 at The Oval in London between the three-time runner-up England and South Africa. Then the next match of England will be against Pakistan on June 3 at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.

The third World Cup 2019 match of England will be against Bangladesh on June 8 at Cardiff Wales Stadium in Cardiff. On June 14, England will have a match at Hampshire Bowl in Southampton against West Indies. England will also have to face Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Australia, India, and New Zealand before the finals in 2019 World Cup.
